IN EARLY 2023,
a transient culture writer/editor and a traveling sound mixer/illustrator met for the first time at a hipster sushi bar in downtown Phoenix (thanks, Hinge). Over the next five hours, the duo bonded over short rib bao buns and a shared affinity for absurdist comedy and original storytelling. It’s such sweet serendipity when lifestyles, humor, growth journeys, and creative interests align! Amanda and Eric supported and fueled each other’s art naturally, and they would often stay up riffing, rambling, and spitballing story ideas until 3 a.m. One day, they decided to turn their favorite musings into shareable stories, launching AM&ER Publishing Company in the spring of 2024.

is a chest full of curios: offbeat stories, fringe science deep-dives, dark children’s fables, freestyle poetry, steamy romance novels (maybe?), naughty adult coloring books (let’s try it), and an insomnia-induced short story about the existential journey of an armless robot who was born to hug (one of our best). They’re each little slices of life that we hope you enjoy as much as we did dreaming them.
